Gas Pole Saws
The chainsaw, used for all sorts of wood cutting projects has been around for about forty years. Here we discuss the benefits of the gas pole saw. There are two types of chainsaws available: the electric powered chainsaw and the gas powered chainsaw. Your choice of which chainsaw you would use would depend on several factors.
Do You Have A Nearby Power Source?
If your power source is not convenient you have the choice of using miles of extension cord or having a generator follow you around the job site. In that case, the gas powered chainsaw is the better choice.
What About The Noise And Efficiency Aspect?
As for the noise efficiency of the two, the electric powered chainsaw is slightly more quiet than the gas powered model, but the gas powered chainsaw is hardier and can work longer thereby being more efficient.
What About Heights?
The fact that the chainsaw is small it cannot reach in all of the desired places and this often means climbing ladders in order to trim branches etc. To make the chainsaw more efficient on jobs such as tree trimming, someone thought of the brilliant idea of putting the saw on the end of an extending pole.
Now the professional tree trimmer and the household handyman can trim trees with ease and efficiency, without having to climb large trees. He can also use handy attachments to convert the tool for other uses. It is an especially important tool for the home owner that has a lot of land and loves trees. He no longer has to climb the tree to give it that manicured look. It can be done by merely extending or lowering the pole on the gas pole saw.

Poulan Pro 400E Electric Chain Saw Review
Honestly, I never felt any need for a chain saw. It was when I experienced the repercussions of a hurricane that I really had no choice but to buy one. Although I was pressured to acquire a chainsaw immediately, I took time in researching. In this difficult economic times, I had to be very cautious with my spending. So I saw lots of results pertaining to chain saws. I was torn between a gas powered and an electric one. I read all the pros and cons. Since I'm usually the lazy type, the idea of a gas powered chain saw was not appealing to me. Of course, the stratospheric price of gas was my major consideration. Also, based on reviews, maintenance for gas-powered chain saws is very costly. I do not want to be bothered by additional fees especially if I will be using a product for once or twice a year only.
I was torn between the Makita chain saw and the Poulan 400E. Reading the reviews somewhat made me an expert on chain saws already. I had to constantly remind myself that I should stick to my original budget. I'll just risk for this measly and very affordable Poulan chainsaw. Amazon was on time with their delivery. That's something commendable.
The Poulan Pro 400E well was easy to set up. It was light weight, thank God! You really have to read the instructions if you want to save your fingers for future use. The extension cord is not that long, so if you have a big backyard then you better buy a longer one. I just find it annoying that the Poulan provided a cheap plastic protector for the blade. I wouldn't mind paying extra just to have a sturdier casing.
Being a newbie I never had difficulties cutting fallen trunks and branches as thick as 8" or more. I noticed that it has minimal oil leakage. Also, when using it, there are oil sprays. To be cost-effective, it's best to buy the bar and chain oil in your local hardware store. It is easy to clean. You must make sure that you drain the oil for storage to avoid leakage. I definitely made the right choice!

Poulan Chainsaws - An Honest Review
Reviewing chainsaws is not an easy task given the team-like following these powerful machines have got.
The Poulan chainsaws range have generally been around the mark when reviews are posted but toppling big names such as Stihl and Husqvarna from their perches is not an easy thing to do.
The plus for Poulan fans is they are actually owned by Husqvarna and it's said they share technologies. On the downside though, this may have impacted the prominence of Poulan as a major player in the chainsaw market.
Poulan probably haven't done themselves many favors when one scans the reviews on some of their chainsaws online. Yes, they produce excellent tools for the handyman and tradesman however, have they "dropped the ball a little" on some of the saws?
Some Reviews Too Harsh?
I tend to think some of the reviews are a little harsh. As we mentioned earlier, chainsaw brands have their band of loyal followers and it's a little like motor cars; until your manufacturer produces something totally unreliable then it's going to take a lot to get someone to switch brands.
The beauty about Poulan chainsaws is you are not "paying and arm and a leg" for them. That's probably not a good description to make given what a chainsaw can do but the truth is, they are hard to beat for value.
Value For Money Products
In a society where more and more new chainsaw owners are being born daily with the homeowner boom, Poulan have come to the party with machines designed to suit novice users looking for a lightweight design chainsaw which packs plenty of power.
A homeowner, unlike a pro or semi pro won't be using their machine on a regular basis so spending a fortune on a chainsaw doesn't make sense.
Spending between 0-0 for a chainsaw which can handle lightweight to medium tasks is good shopping in anyone's language. The only question then is whether one can get satisfactory back-up support when needed. This is always a major issue when buying chainsaws and is drummed home regularly to first-time users.
It remains to be seen how competitive Poulan chainsaws remain in today's market but if you're looking for a value saw, then it's a good starting place.
